Christmas 2013

We celebrated Christmas quite a few times this year with both sides of our family and our little family on Christmas day. Ella was very excited about all the festivities but loved being with our families more than anything.  Lucy loved playing with wrapping paper and boxes, and I think she loved being the center of attention :).

We started out celebrating Christmas with my family the Saturday before Christmas while my parents and both my brothers were in town.  My parents and David and Emily shipped lots of packages to our house so they didn't have to bring them on the airplane with them, so we had fun finding packages on our doorstep most days during December!
We hosted lunch at our house and opened presents from family...

Ella was thrilled with her "Elsa" dress (from Frozen) that Grandma and Grandpa got her...

Lucy couldn't get enough of Uncle David's beard :)...

After doing gifts we went downtown to do the carousel ride, look at the Gingerbread Houses at the Sheraton and have dinner at the Spaghetti Factory...

The whole crew! Very special to be all together since we're now spread out over three states...
We had a relaxing day at home on Christmas Eve (well sort of...we're in the middle of a bathroom remodel so having workers banging on the walls all day wasn't exactly relaxing) before heading to church in the evening with my parents. Ella insisted on having straight hair that day - can't believe how long it is when it's straight!

Ella's first candle light Christmas Eve service...
Dinner at our house after church....
Cookies and milk ready for Santa (along with carrots for the reindeer) and her Santa letter left out...

So much fun waking up on Christmas morning and seeing Ella so excited to see if Santa had come.  Ella had asked Santa for a Doc McStuffins doll and doctor kit, and an Elsa dress (which Grandma and Grandpa delivered on), and a "singing toy" for Lucy...

My parents came over and joined us for breakfast on Christmas morning...

The weekend after Christmas we headed to Ephrata to celebrate Christmas with Cody's family.
Between car rides and not sleeping great at our hotel, Lucy was so sleepy while we opened gifts.  About 10 minutes after I took this picture, she was asleep in her dad's arms :)...
Ella was so excited about her "Anna" dress from Grammy and Grampy - she had a very "Frozen" Christmas (I think she officially now has every princess dress-up dress that exists!)...

Hanging out with Uncle Beau...

She was "Ariel" while swimming at our hotel pool...
Ready for dinner with my girls...

Love this little hat my mom knit for Lucy...
And one more random pic...I LOVE getting the mail during the month of December and finding Christmas cards.  I just wish I had a good way to organize/display them! But I sort of love our crazy web of Christmas cards :).
